The day started out cloudy with the threat of rain.  However, six TrailBlazers didn't allow that threat to keep them in town.  The drive south had an occasional mist and low lying clouds, but we had hope that the day would be rain free.

We arrived at the trailhead with the mist falling and questions of whether or not the rains would come.  The hike on Buckeye Mountain started up hill and after a while, the mist stopped.  During the time on the Buckeye trail, the mist would form and then go away.  We never had any rain.  Katy Falls was flowing nicely.  After lunch at the falls, we headed to the Caney Creek trail.  We were able to get across the first creek without having to change shoes.  The skies soon started to clear and after a mile or two the sun came out.  Two more crossings required water shoes and at the rest of the crossings, we were able to rock hop across.

The day turned out to be an awesome hiking day.  The temperature was perfect and rain stayed away.  We missed having a bunch of our hiking buds along with us, but maybe they were able to get things accomplished around the house.
