Thirteen TrailBlazers braved the elements to hike White Rock Mountain Rim Loop.
The skies were cloudy but dry when we left Van Buren, but we drove into fog as we approached the mountain. There were no views from the trail but the thick fog created a very quiet, beautiful scene. The dampness seemed to emphasize the colors of the moss and lichen. Despite the fog, we had a very nice Sunday afternoon hike.
The day did not end there for everyone. Tom, Gary and Denise had hauled their trail bikes to the mountaintop so they could polish off the day by riding down the mountain to Shores Lake. Drive up, bicycle down - the common-sense approach.
