Nineteen Trailblazers weren’t afraid to take a chance on the weather to get in a short hike between rain showers. Clouds loomed, but spirits were high, and all were glad to have another excuse to get outdoors and walk. Our trek began behind Judge Parker’s Courthouse, continuing to Belle Point.  Views of the Poteau and Arkansas Rivers could be enjoyed from the trail.

The Riverfront trail meandered past Harry E Kelly Park before linking into the Greg Smith River Trail.  Snapped a fun picture of the group at the FORT sign that stands for FRIENDS OF RECREATIONAL TRAILS and noticed signage posted at the Future Home of the Marshals Museum. At 2.2 miles we turned around to retrace our path, however the viewpoints were different and the scenery beautiful.

Today’s group was made up of several club regulars, a few others who we’re glad to see rejoined, a couple first timers, and a paw pal, Newton. Peggy was the hike leader.
