Fourteen showed up for the winter trek at Petit Jean. The day started out really chilly but normal for this time of year. After we crossed the creek and started up the mountain, jackets came off.  The breeze and later the cloudy sky kept the temps cool.

We have had very little rain lately, so the creeks were low and Cedar Falls was barely flowing.  This has allowed the repair of the creek crossing at Blue Hole. From the looks of things, there is still more work to be done.

On the way down the mountain, we spotted a group of several wild turkeys.  That, ladies and gentlemen, is unusual with the amount of visiting that we do on the trail.

We had some new folks join us on the hike today, Els from Conway and Howard and Karen from Springfield. We enjoyed their company and hope they will join us again.
