The rain held off so Sunday afternoon turned out to be perfect- not too warm, not too cool – for sixteen TrailBlazers to hike the Greenwood Trail.

We spent some time in Bell Park creating music and enjoying the view while the cars were shuttled to our end point at City Hall.  We decided to hike from Bell Park to City Hall since it would be downhill, but we discovered we had forgotten about one steep climb going that direction.  The trail is gravel from Bell Park to a neighborhood below where it becomes paved for the rest of the way.  The trail follows a creek, passes through a paved tunnel and skirts downtown businesses. There were many flowering serviceberry trees, aka Popcorn, trees along the trail. As we drove back to Fort Smith, it began to sprinkle and then became a very brief, light shower.
