Twenty-one TrailBlazers gathered at Lake Fort Smith Visitors Center to hike on the Ozark Highland Trail.

It was cold and windy as we started but the sun finally made its appearance and it turned into a great afternoon for hiking.  After our obligatory group picture at the lake overlook, we headed down the trail.  It is a moderate up-and-down trail with several small water crossings as it meanders through the woods.  We had views of the lake, huge moss-covered boulders, a small waterfall, an old rock fireplace left standing where a home once stood and blooming daffodils. We are very fortunate to have Lake Fort Smith State Park a short drive from Fort Smith.
