It was a perfect day for hiking at Pedestal Rocks Scenic Area.

It’s a 2-hour drive to the trailhead through the mountains on a winding, scenic highway. The colors were not at peak but Steve worked his magic and captured some beautiful shots of trees. Our first stop was at King’s Bluff to view the falls which was actually running since there had been recent rainfall. From there we made our way to the first area of pedestals where we viewed some very large pedestals along the bluff line. After a walk through the woods we found the perfect lunch spot on a bluff with a view of the mountains. We went down under to explore the pedestals and the large cave before heading back to the trailhead. On the way back some  hikers stopped to view the nice flow of water at Haw Creek Falls.
