Just as the weather changes, sometimes so do the best of plans. Today's destination was supposed to be the North Twin Trail at Lake Wedington. However, upon our arrival at the trailhead, we found it to be closed.

So, not wanting to waste a great day outdoors, we exercised our flexibility and backtracked to Mt Kessler Regional Park. Starting at the base of the mountain across from the soccer fields, nineteen TrailBlazers began the trek. There were many switchbacks in the long ascent up this mountain making some wonder how much more uphill there would be. Mountain bikers also seem to love the area and make good use of the trails. Nearing the peak, the trail intersected with the Crazy Mary Trail which made a loop back down to the base. Finding a somewhat level area, we enjoyed a trail-side lunch before completing the 5 mike hike. Since only a few of those hiking had been on this section of Kessler trails, it turned out to be a good choice.
