Only eight TrailBlazers made the trip to Petit Jean State Park to hike the rugged, beautiful Seven Hollows Trail.
We drove through early morning fog for much of the way. By the time we reached the trailhead, it was clear and sunny. We hiked the loop clockwise taking us first to the natural bridge. We climbed up the hill to the area above that we call turtle rocks since it is a field of large stones that look like turtle shells. The little creeks were almost totally dry. After eating our lunch, we continued on to the grotto. Again, there was only a trickle of water dripping from what is usually a nice waterfall. There was very little autumn color. After the hike, some drove to the Visitor's Center that sets beside Lake Bailey. It was a great hike on a crisp, fall day.
