On the coldest morning of November, fifteen TrailBlazers headed to Mt. Magazine State Park to hike Bear Hollow Trail.
After shuttling cars to the Benefield picnic area, our hike began at the Horse Camp. The trail meanders through the woods with views down into the valley. There was no water in any of the little creeks or drainages but there were spectacular views of the colorful mountains. We arrived at Inspiration Point for our lunch break. Then we continued on the Benefield Trail to reach the overlook on Hwy 309. There is a sweeping view of the valley below with Blue Mountain Lake in the distance. It was a perfect winter day and a good time with hiking friends.
